Now that I'm home with the boys and our budget is the smallest it has been in years, I should start thinking about the Christmas season and what the gift giving portion of that is going to look like.
I want to make some of our gifts, but I don't want to spend a bunch of money on crafty ideas that I will never be able to make the time for while chasing around the Twin Men.
I also don't want to make a bunch of junk that people open and say.... "Oh, thank you so much!... It's a lovely... ummm.... What the heck is this thing?"
I may have done this once with my mom and a Santa I tried to make her.... Santa may have came out looking like a troll who had mange...
I think we all would agree a bunch of Mangy Santa Trolls laying around the house may not be a real good idea when your trying to get your kids excited about setting on Santa's lap for a photo shoot.
So, as I skip right over Mangy Santa Trolls, the two ideas I have so far is making a few super soft throw blankets and some homemade jams and apple butter. The jams and apple butter I like because the kids can get involved. I thought I could have a few pics of them wearing their chef outfits printed up on stickers and slap them on the front of the jars! Should be a hit with the great grandmas!
So, creative blog buddies... Wanna help a sista' out?
Do you have, or have you seen any creative ideas?
How about cool ideas for shopping on a budget? Coupons, etc?
Keep in mind I have a sewing machine and I'm not afraid to use it!
Thanks Folks!
Now for...

Thanks:
Thankful today for the creative way the Lord provides. Some unexpected money will be coming in and it will really help with covering the deductible for the boys medical bills before Christmas!
Giving:
Last night I made sure I had the kids fed a early dinner before I left for bible study so the hubby would not have to worry about that and could just enjoy playing with his boys.

What about baking breads or cakes or something like that? I do that often.
Or -- a cheap (noncrafty option) idea: ornaments. Go to Hobby Lobby or something like that and get ornaments. Another thing I do...lol.
Hobby lobby sells clear decoratable glass christmas ornaments. When HL has their 50% off sales, I think you can buy a box of 4 for $5--Fill them with a picture of the boys some rafia and a bow. cute and CHEAP!! And a keepsake :)
I like the canning/baking stuff. As long as it is something people will like you can't go wrong with it.
Or if it's family, what about getting someone to take a portrait of you guys and the boys, finding an inexpensive 8X10 frame, and getting some prints done at Walmart or Walgreens? You could probably get by with $5 per family with that and that is something family would love.
Or you could pull a George Costanza and donate to the Human Fund in their name. ;)
I really like the jam idea! I think you should do that! Makes me want some jam right now...
The food idea is great! You can get cute photo stickers of the twin men made at Walmart.com relatively cheap.
You can also do gifts of time/service. Since my parents are getting older, we told them we'd rake their leaves for them. If its family out of town, you may have to do something while visiting... maybe a fun activity or outing.
Oh and Walmart has TONS of photo gifts, calendars and such. Grandparents, aunts, etc. love that stuff, especially if it has your cuties on it!
Food is always good... and I have to agree with the photo suggestions for family. The best. Besides, who can resist a photo of those sweet boys! Seriously.
So everyone seems to like the food and photo ideas. What a bout putting it all together to make adorable gift baskets?
I love the Thanks & Giving idea!
